Norway is the best place in the world for ice climbing.
ICE CLIMBING IN RJUKAN
Rjukan is maybe the most fames place in Norway for ice climbing, at least for foreigners. And with good reason! Lots of waterfalls concentrated around the small town gives easy access the possibility to do a lot of climbing. A cold, often stable and long winter season makes Rjukan the perfekt place for your ice climbing holiday. We offer guiding and courses on all levels on most of the 192(!!) waterfalls in the area.
Rjukan offer climbing on all levels of difficulty.
Do you have a dream of climbing some of the classic waterfalls of the gorge of Rjukan, go iceclimbing with me. Trappfoss, Rjukanfossen, Nye Vemork, Sabbotørfossen, Juvsøyla and many more – you’re choice!
ICE CLIMBING IN HEMSEDAL
Hemsedal and the surrounding areas has the same stable cold climate as Rjukan, but there is not as big concentration of waterfalls. The climbs are often longer and there is not much other people. Hemsedal is also close to Lærdal which offer a lot of longer waterfalls.
ICE CLIMBING ON THE WEST COAST
The west coast of Norway offer longer and often more challenging ice climbing than Rjukan. Both the approaches and climbs are often longer than in Rjukan, and its often more challenging climbing. A climbing trip to the west coast is for the experienced climbers
On all our trips, we use IVBV/IFMGA/UIAGM certified guide or aspirant guides with good local knowledge.
ACCOMMODATION AND LODGING
